WATERWORKS ADDITION UPDATE

At its July 9th meeting, the Fairmount Park Commission deferred action on the Waterworks addition until September. The Preservation Alliance's petition against the addition-with 60 signatures so far-was presented to the Commission's Executive Director. People from throughout the city of Philadelphia, adjacent counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and as far away as Boston and Washington, D.C. have signed the petition. Thanks to all of you who have shown support.

Subsequent key dates are July 29 at 9am, when the proposed restaurant operator will give a presentation to the Historical Commission's Architectural Committee at City Hall, and August 8 at 9am, when the presentation is given to the full Historical Commission at City Hall.
