2010 Old House Fair Draws Old House Owners and Fans from Across the Region
Attendees of the 2010 Old House Fair took advantage of the opportunity to visit 70+ booths of vendors and preservation professionals representing, products, services and information pertaining to older and historic houses, along with a select group of state, local and regional non-profit preservation and design-related organizations. The Fair featured five hands-on demonstrations by specialty craftspeople, presented in the demonstration area in the Field House, along with an impressive collection of a dozen presentations by both the participating vendors and other historic preservation specialists concerning preservation practices, products and services throughout the day.
The 2010 Old House Fair was a great opportunity for homeowners and aspiring homeowners to meet with exhibitors, attend the demonstrations and presentations, take advantage of the “Ask the Experts” consultations, and gather useful information at the Preservation Resource Center. Attendees also received a copy of the Old House Fair Program Book, featuring useful information and a listing of detailed information about each of the vendors.
In addition to all the great information that will be
available at the 2010 Old House Fair, the Preservation Alliance will presented the 2010 Homeowner Awards to a select group of homeowners for their outstanding restoration and renovation projects.
If you missed the 2010 Old House Fair, don't despair, there will be another one next year. Be sure to visit this website on a regular basis and make sure to mark your calendar when the 2011 Old House Fair is announced.

About the Old House Fair
The OLD HOUSE FAIR grows out of the Alliance’s mission to provide technical assistance and educational activities that encourage restoration and reuse of historic buildings. We recognize that preservation is community driven and begins with the efforts of dedicated stewards who tend their historic houses.![]()
Initiated in 1984, the Old House Fair ran as one of the longest running programs of its kind in the country for more than 15 years. After a few years hiatus, this very popular event was reintroduced in 2007, and we have been delighted with the positive response it has received since it's reintroduction to the Philadelphia area!
The Preservation Alliance knew we had a hit on our hands when a steady stream of old house fans made its way to the campus of the Germantown Friends School for the 2008 Old House Fair on Saturday, March 22. Approximately 1,200 people attended last years fair and the very positive response of visitors and vendors alike tells us that the Fair is here to stay!
